INSTITUTE OF SOIL SCIENCE "NIKOLA POUSHKAROV"

The Institute of Soil Science “Nikola Poushkarov” is a research institute within the structure of Agricultural Academy (AA), developing scientific, applied and extension service activities in the field of soil science, agroecology, agriculture and environmental protection, regulated by:

* The Law for modification and addition of the Law for the NCAS, published in accordance with Decree № 148/22.04.2008 г. of the President of R Bulgaria in State Gazette issue 43/2008 and
* Organization regulation of AA accepted by ordinance of the MC № 226/15.09.2008, published in State Gazette issue 83/2008.

The ISS “N. Poushkarov” accomplishes research, teaching, consultancy, designing and economic activities:

* Fundamental studies in the field of soil science, agroecology, agriculture and environmental protection;
* Fundamental and strategic studies-research with regard to considerable national and international ecological and economical problems;

* Research on topical and risky problems;

* Teaching of post-graduate students for attaining Ph Degree;
* Scientific and applied research, investigations, designing, methodological, technical, consultancy and expert activities;
* Post-graduate training;
* Elaboration of projects for National and European funds and programs;
* Development of pilot projects for demonstration and training;
* Professional training in accordance with the accreditation papers of AA;
* Organization of national and international seminars, courses and conferences;
* Participation in preparation of policy documents with regard to protection of soil resources and the soil ecological functions.
