Caters for the needs of the agricultural production on the entire country’s territory, while interacting with the specialized research institutes of the system of Agricultural academy, the regional and the municipal offices “Agriculture”, the National Agriculture Advisory Service and its regional offices, the regional structures of the State Fund “Agriculture” and other units and offices of the system of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, local authorities and administration, and direct contacts with agricultural producers.

* Co-ordinates and organizes the consultancy activity of the Institute. Submits consultancy and advisory assistance to farmers, cooperative farms, associations and other organizations with regard to the agricultural production;
* Submits specialized advises, develops and disseminates information and teaching materials, organizes and carries out training of agricultural producers and specialists;
* Actively disseminates and implements scientific achievements and elaborations in the broad agricultural practice;

* Accomplishes expert evaluations and submits advises in the field of agriculture;
* Participates in resolving ecological, economic and information problems with regard to the agriculture;
* Participates in joint elaborations and implementation of projects and programs with other national institutions and related international organizations;
* Organizes construction of demonstration fields and farms;* Submits advises about the need of fertilisers for the agricultural crops;
* Establishes, maintains and updates database of scientific-technical and applied information needed for advises and consultancy;
* Prepares proposals and positions requested by the government and other institutions;
* Prepares positions for the agrochemistry status of the agricultural land needed for application for funding with regard to EC programs.

* Keeps the soil maps and soil information (records), as well as the main books of the experimental fields;
* Accomplishes the maintenance and the use of the materials following a routine order.

Develops, manipulates, digitalizes and keeps the map information for the needs of the Institute and external users.

* Keeps and manipulates soil, digital and other information fro the research and applied activities of the Institute.
* Caters for the research and the applied activities.
* Submits services for external users.

* Keeps monoliths of the soil types in Bulgaria.
* Accomplishes visualization and training purposes.

Developed to teach farmers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and specialists from public and private institutions in the field of soil science, agriculture and agroecology.
