The sector unifies and accomplishes the entire field experimental and production activity as well as that under controlled conditions in the greenhouse and the phytotron.

* The experimental fields station are distributed in a soil geographic network across the country: Alvanovo, Targovishte; Badeshte, Stara Zagora; Belozem, Plovdiv; Bezhanovo, Lovech; Bozhurishte, Sofia; Gorni Dabnik, Pleven; Galabovo, Stara Zagora; Dushevo, Sevlievo; Krepost, Haskovo; Kovachitca, Montana; Kostinbrod, Sofia; Mirkovo, Sofia distr.; Medkovetc, Montana; Nikoaevo, Pleven; Primorsko, Burgas; Rakovski, Razgrad; Suhodol, Sofia; Sadievo, Sliven; Sarnevo, Stara Zagora; Sekirovo, Plovdiv;

Sredetc, Stara Zagora; Topolovgrad, Haskovo; Trastenik, Pleven; Trastenik, Ruse; Tcalapitca, Plovdiv; Zhinzifovo, Kardzhali - biopolygon; Gorni Lozen, Sofia - biopolygon.

In the experimental fields are carried out multifactor field trials with annuel and perrenial field, vegetable and energy crops in the conditions of conventional and organic (biological) agriculture.

In the greenhouse and the phytotron are carried out trials on plant nutrition at controlled soil-climatic conditions.
